About The Position

The Export Specialist is a valuable role in our international business. They will help facilitate receiving and shipping our international orders in compliance with government regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Proficiency using computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • 2+ years export experience
  • Positive work history including safety and attendance
  • Able to handle fast paced environment, minimum 6 months in fast paced office setting
  • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills
  • Attention to detail and analytically driven
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong credibility, presence, and the ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to work independently and within a team

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of USDA Guidelines and Regulations a plus

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, prepare and accompany the processes of export. Provide data to solve existing operations problems
  • Contribute to the practices of minimizing costs, term of receipt and delivery, and quality of products
  • Provide the necessary legal documentation for the delivery of products and services in the international market
  • Keep in touch with brokers and agents to track purposes and release exports
  • Accompany the custom legislation to keep up to date the procedures involved in export
  • Receive international orders from customers and build a weekly schedule for the DC
  • Receive food bank and wholesale customer’s orders and coordinate selection and delivery with the DC
  • Schedule delivery appointments for food banks and wholesale customers
  • Create and send proforma invoices to all international customers
  • Spot inspectable items on all international orders and create meat certificates both online and manually
  • Schedule the USDA inspector as needed to meet shipping schedule
  • Identify new inspectable items as they come up and work with corporate team to flag in Triceps (so the designation prints on the labels)
  • Identify all dairy items on international orders and create certificates for export
  • Process and ship all original certificates to international customers via UPS and DHL
  • Communicate with international customers to coordinate container numbers and pickup dates
  • Create BOL’s for all food bank, wholesale and international loads departing the DC
  • Email all paperwork associated with these loads such as the BOL, certificates and invoices to customers
  • Enter weekly container loading charges in the freight and fuel system
  • Email summary of weekly container loading charges to all customers
  • Adhere to company policies, standards and best practices, including proper document retention for export paperwork
