Requirements

  • Requires graduation from an accredited law school and possession of a valid license to practice law in Illinois.
  • Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the practice of law.
  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver's license.
  • This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiringthe occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.)requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretaryof State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement ofEconomic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive EthicsCommission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Internal Investigations Manager/Staff Attorney.
  • Serves as full line supervisor.
  • Conducts legal research as needed for OIG child welfare-related investigations and child welfare Error ReductionTrainings.
  • Oversees Child Welfare Employee Licensure (CWEL) investigations.
  • Prepares cases for potential criminal prosecution.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumeratedabove.
