Job Summary The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Internal Communications Strategist (Internal Communications Staff III / IV) to join our Executive & Internal Communications team and lead our internal communications and employee engagement efforts. In this vital role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering an employee communications and engagement strategy, as well as partnering with our Enterprise Services leaders on their change transformation initiatives. You will manage multiple communications deliverables at different stages of the planning process, while providing an exemplary attention to detail and outstanding customer service. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site at our facility, located either at our Corporate Headquarters in Chantilly, VA, or at our Technology Campus in El Segundo, CA.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements for the Internal Communications Staff III: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English or other related field is required
  • A minimum of (5) years of relevant internal communications, corporate communications and/or employee engagement experience is required
  • Meticulous organizational skills paired with attention to detail, ensuring seamless project execution and operational excellence
  • Exceptional interpersonal acumen that fosters effective collaboration across internal and external teams with complex organizational structures
  • Outstanding writing and editing expertise, with a proven ability to tailor communications for executives, managers, or employees
  • A strategic visionary who navigates effortlessly between high-level planning and hands-on execution, driving initiatives from conception to completion
  • Proven leadership in change management communications, adept at steering organizational transformations and managing crisis narratives with clarity and precision
  • In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Internal Communications Staff IV: A minimum of (10) years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or (8) or more years of relevant experience with a Master's degree is required
  • Proven success in engaging C-suite executives to drive strategic initiatives and influence key decision-making processes
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading robust internal communications functions that inspire teams and foster a culture of transparency and collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated success in partnering with highly technical teams to translate complex concepts into actionable solutions and drive project innovation
  • Knowledge within the aerospace and defense sector is strongly desired
  • Proficiency with PoliteMail or other internal email metrics services is a nice-to-have
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and WordPress, or similar content management platform
  • A current and active TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government, is strongly preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key communications partner to our Chief Operating Officer as well as other Enterprise Service leaders, working to communicate key corporate initiatives
  • Lead our corporate internal communications portfolio, leveraging different channels to engage employees across nationwide locations
  • Develop and execute communications plans, with a special emphasis on change management communications
  • Partner across our CorpComm creative teams (i.e. graphics, video) to create compelling communications deliverables
