About The Position

The Internal Communications Specialist functions as the eyes, ears, and voice of the organization, in conjunction with the Internal Communications Manager. Oversees correspondence between employees across various departments and the company’s management. Responsible for connecting employees with the right information and keeping the organization transparent and employees engaged. Helps employees across the organization stay up to date with the company’s vision, goals, projects and executive updates. Collaborates with Marketing, Human Resources, Office of Strategy and Technology, Training and Development, Business Development, Management, and others to support the brand mission by connecting staff to information and each other. Partners with multiple departments and stakeholders to execute communication initiatives from concept to delivery. Develops and executes strategic internal and executive communications plans by aligning internal and executive messaging with the company’s vision, mission and positioning. Develops and authors a variety of internal and executive communications including presentations, announcements, and updates to be delivered across a variety of communications channels. Leverages and collaborates with the firm’s content, design, and digital teams for writing projects. Contributes to the company’s internal communications channels by maintaining the coordinated Internal Communications editorial calendar, researching topics and developing content, writing stories, etc. Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects. Maintains compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing, Business, Writing or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • You have 3-5 years of experience in a previous internal communications role, preferably in a corporate environment. Previous experience working in a professional services firm preferred.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, with a deep understanding of IC tactics and mediums, and a passion for creating connections and facilitating engagement.
  • You have experience working within a variety of corporate communications channels, including corporate intranets, mobile, and more.
  • You can write and tailor content for specific audiences which demonstrate a deep understanding of messaging, positioning and stakeholder needs.
  • You have aptitude for learning new technology that enhances company-wide communication.
  • You can adapt and change directions quickly; comfortable with a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines on short notice.
  • You can establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and firm leaders.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
