About The Position

As an Executive Communications Intern, you will support communications, events and other engagements for the CEO and other members of the senior leadership team. Responsibilities of this role include planning, identifying, writing and recommending employee engagement opportunities and speaking engagements. It also includes supporting live events, the cascade of information and other needed communication across channels and teams. In this role, you will gain insights into how we approach many challenges associated with being one of the nation’s leading retailers. This internship also will give you the opportunity to develop industry-related skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees and explore a wide variety of career paths. This internship will be available from June to August 2026. It is a hybrid role, meaning you must be located within a drivable distance to our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You will be asked to come into the office 3 days per week. This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. Internal Best Buy employees: A limited number of company-sponsored summer housing slots are available near corporate headquarters for hybrid/in-person roles for current Best Buy employees. What you’ll do Provide written, verbal and in-person support for leadership messages Plan for, write and execute regularly occurring employee engagement briefings for top executives, including the CEO – which may include anything from drafting a leader note or composing a post for LinkedIn. Prepare briefing documents, including speaking notes and/or speeches, for officer- and executive-level leaders participating in internal enterprise events and meetings. Create visually engaging PowerPoint decks for various events and audiences. Learn and navigate the organization and its many cross-functional teams to coordinate and execute a complete, cohesive and effective outcome.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between Fall 2026 and Spring 2029
  • Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CT
  • Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 6/1/2026- 8/7/2026
  • Must be able to commit to being no more than 2 hours driving distance from the Minneapolis Corporate Campus - 7601 Penn Ave South Richfield, MN 55423
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc., will not be considered)

Nice To Haves

  • Effective communicator; proficient in written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of visual communication software, including PowerPoint.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple assignments from conception to completion on deadline.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Digital Media, PR, Journalism, Media Relations, Marketing or a related field.
