About The Position

The Manager, Internal Audit plays a key leadership role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and effectiveness of internal audit operations. This position oversees senior and staff auditors through all phases of the audit lifecycle — from planning and execution to reporting and follow-up — while ensuring audits are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with professional standards. This role partners closely with management across the organization to communicate audit results, strengthen controls, and support continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong audit expertise, people leadership skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment while working independently under general direction. This is a hybrid onsite position with ~2-3 days per week required in office at MGM National Harbor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • 3+ years of prior relevant experience including full time experience in auditing, accounting, business analysis, or program evaluation, including two (2) years of supervisory or project management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of internal auditing and accounting principles and practices
  • Solid understanding of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the IIA Code of Ethics
  • Demonstrated ability to perform quality control and second-level reviews of audit work
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex data, systems, and controls
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including presenting findings and recommendations to leadership

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support audit staff by assisting with audit planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise audits through second-level review of workpapers, documentation, and audit memos.
  • Guide staff in identifying, developing, and documenting audit findings and recommendations.
  • Oversee the communication of audit results through clear written reports and presentations to management.
  • Coach, train, evaluate, and develop audit staff; address performance issues as needed.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
  • Represent Internal Audit on organizational project teams and in management meetings.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards in alignment with Internal Audit best practices.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and share knowledge with the team.
