Department Overview The Internal Audit department at Bloom has responsibility for managing the company’s Sarbanes Oxley compliance program in addition to executing audits per the annual plan approved by Bloom’s Audit Committee. The Internal Audit team is set up to be independent and objecting via oversight by the Audit Committee. Internal Audit aims to support Bloom Energy’s mission by: Strengthening internal controls and risk management to support strategic growth. Promoting compliance, transparency, and ethical practices through SOX, IT, and ESG audits. Driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement with data analytics and automation. Providing assurance to stakeholders that Bloom’s operations align with its vision for a sustainable future. Overview Join Bloom Energy’s Internal Audit team to gain hands-on experience in audit methodology, data analytics, and key audit areas including SOX and IT audits. While prior audit experience is not required, this internship will help understand how Internal Audit interacts with stakeholders across multiple functions and how this function can help company set up a robust internal control framework with appropriate risk mitigation measures. In addition, this internship will enable use of data analytics to identify and spot troubling patterns, better target sample selections and focus on key risks.

Requirements

  • Currently a student earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Must be graduating between spring 2026 and summer 2027

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Excel is a must; optional but good to have Tableau, Power BI, SQL; familiarity with audit software (e.g., TeamMate, AuditBoard, Workiva) a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up controls for ESG (Environmental Social Governance) disclosure compliance
  • Analyze and visualize data using advanced Excel and other available tools such as Tableau, Alteryx and/or Power BI.
  • Support SOX audits: assist with rolling forward testing workpapers for internal controls over financial reporting; participate in process walkthroughs.
  • Contribute to IT audits: review system access, prepare data flow diagrams, and set up dashboards.
  • Apply audit methodology (risk assessment, planning, fieldwork, reporting) aligned with IIA standards while assisting on an operational audit.
  • Communicate audit findings through reports and presentations.
  • Look for opportunities to automate audit tests and create dashboards.
