About The Position

The Tech Ops Intern will assist customer support as well as perform general technical tasks required by Tech Ops objectives, policies, and procedures. They will assist the IT Support Specialist with troubleshooting and resolving technical incidents and requests for onsite and remote staff. They will assist in documenting, maintaining and servicing hardware and software requests and assist with planning and maintenance of equipment. They will assist the IT Support Specialist with onboarding and offboarding activities and execute IT policy and best practices.

Requirements

  • Working towards an Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • High level of flexibility, willing to operate in an agile environment while working within a team to deliver excellence.
  • Strong drive for innovation and demonstrates curiosity while learning. Willing to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
  • Communications skills, both verbal and written. Able to translate IT speak for non-IT people. Foster collaboration and understanding by communicating clearly and simple terms across departments, time zones, and cultures.
  • Motivated to take on responsibilities eagerly and follow through on assigned projects.
  • This individual should be a self-starter and possess organizational skills, as well as efficient time-management skills.
  • Evidence of and a commitment to practice a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Service Desk tickets by providing technological support for staff while monitoring queues and using data to drive customer-oriented solutions.
  • Maintain service excellence by providing staff with regular updates throughout the incident and request process to improve customer satisfaction
  • Adopt and insist on a fix-once mentality while investigating and diagnosing faults.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including storing, receiving, and shipping technology equipment
  • Carry out IT processes, procedures, and administrative tasks with minimum supervision
  • Install, troubleshoot/repair, and administer (Windows and iOS) computing devices, including desktops, laptops, phones, tablets, servers, network appliances, printers, and AV equipment according to design or specifications.
  • Monitor and assist with video conferencing equipment support for office staff
  • Collect necessary data required for scorecard and departmental reporting
  • Assist with technology provisioning of equipment and services during onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain inventories of computing devices, IT equipment, IDF and MDF rooms and accounts producing inventory counts as needed for fleet maintenance/forecasting.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment rooms to comply with IT and QSE standards.
  • Responsible for recycling all IT expired equipment and technologies ensuring correct disposal per policy.
  • Assist the technical team with other projects as needed
