About The Position

The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s paid, twelve-week summer program is designed to provide interns with engaging, challenging project-based assignments, cross-team exposure and learning opportunities in a mission-driven environment, working to support their assigned team as well as on a group project with each other. The program will run from June 1–Aug. 21, 2026. The Foundation is offering an internship to work with its Strategic Communications team, reporting to a communications associate. The role will support the team’s digital efforts across web, email, video and social media, offering hands-on experience creating content, analyzing performance data and contributing to campaigns that amplify the Foundation’s work.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates should be enrolled in an undergraduate program in communications, journalism or related field.
  • Interest in digital communications, storytelling and data-informed decision-making.
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong research, interpersonal and analytical skills as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently on projects and assignments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, writing, graphic design and AP Style

Responsibilities

  • Support a range of digital communications efforts, including drafting and preparing content for the Foundation's website, intranet and social media platforms.
  • Track and report on performance across digital channels; help maintain dashboards and analyze data to inform strategy.
  • Conduct research on digital communications trends and best practices to share insights with the team.
  • Contribute to social media content creation and scheduling.
  • Assist with the production and distribution of email newsletters.
  • Manage other assignments as needed.
