About The Position

Join the Service Engineering Team: Where Curiosity Meets Healthcare Innovation Ever wondered how cutting-edge medical equipment stays reliable and ready to save lives? That’s our Service Engineering team’s mission! As a Summer Intern, you’ll dive into projects that help keep Hologic’s mammography systems running smoothly. You’ll get hands-on experience working with complex devices, learn how service strategies are crafted, and see firsthand how great teamwork leads to better patient care. Bring your problem-solving skills—let’s make a difference together! What you’ll be up to during your 10-12 week adventure: Help develop repair and replacement procedures for our next-gen mammography system (yes, you get to tinker and write about it!). Support our corrective action projects by creating remediation kits and testing them out. Update technical documentation so our field engineers have clear, easy-to-follow instructions. Collaborate with experienced engineers and learn the ins-and-outs of medical device quality management. Roll up your sleeves and gain hands-on experience with electromechanical systems (don’t worry, we’ll show you the ropes).

Requirements

  • You can work full-time during the summer (May/June - August/September).
  • You’re currently working on your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, with at least one semester left after the internship.
  • Your major is Mechanical Engineering, or something similar.
  • You’re heading into your junior or senior year.
  • You know how to get your point across, whether you’re writing or speaking.
  • You’ve dabbled in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • You’re comfortable lifting up to 40lbs
  • You’re excited to work hands-on with complex electromechanical systems.
