Internship Overview Powell’s 10-week paid internship program offers college students hands-on experience, professional training, and the opportunity to make an impact through a meaningful project aligned with your field of study. As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you’ll focus on creating standardized documentation while gaining valuable skills in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Project Focus Intern Project: The intern will lead a project focused on creating comprehensive manufacturing documentation and job cards for our diverse product portfolio, including custom options and integrated multi-section lineups. Leveraging existing photos and video records captured by manufacturing leads, the intern will organize and digitize these resources using an appropriate software tool—such as Autodesk Inventor and paired with a document management software system— to develop interactive, searchable procedures. These procedures will include exploded design views, step-by-step instructions, and multimedia elements (photos, videos, voice descriptions) to enhance clarity and usability. Expected Deliverables: The intern will develop a foundational and scalable framework for documenting our manufacturing processes and product builds. The intern will evaluate software options, design the documentation framework, and implement a scalable solution that supports both current and future manufacturing needs. Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Rising Junior or Senior continuing studies in Fall 2027.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA and strong academic standing.
  • Team player with strong communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with a dependable, can-do attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) or Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
