About The Position

This position will work in Risk and learn operational areas of the Bank including Compliance, BSA/AML and Internal Audit. The Intern will work on substantive projects including researching regulatory requirements, assisting with the audit and assurance program, conforming procedures in response to changes in law and audit findings, and review of partner documentation for compliance with Bank standards. This position will assist the Bank in performing work that can be done by an intern while offering the student valuable insight into working in operations at a innovative community bank.

Requirements

• Current student in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program with an expected graduation date of May 2027 or later
• The ideal candidate would have a demonstrated interest in community banking as demonstrated through experience or coursework, which might include banking, finance, or regulatory analysis.
• This is an onsite position, in Waterloo or Des Moines
• In addition, this position will be up to full-time during the summer of 2026 and then will be part-time with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week through the fall/winter with the school year work performed from school if the school is outside Waterloo or Des Moines.

Responsibilities

• Research regulatory developments and existing requirements
• Review of partner documentation for compliance with Bank standards
• Assist with testing internal controls
• Perform internal audit and/or second line assurance testing throughout the bank
• Complies with internal controls, operational procedures and risk management policies.
• Represents Lincoln Savings Bank in a positive light in all professional duties. Including participating in civic, community, and networking events to cultivate productive relationships for Lincoln Savings Bank.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by Management.
• This role may require company travel, so a valid driver’s license is required.
