About The Position

Tenaska is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, an organization that’s adept in natural gas and power marketing, power management, development and acquisition of generation assets, operation of power plants and more. Job Summary: The Intern, Credit Risk will support the Credit Risk team in the review and credit analysis of the current and prospective customers of the energy marketing groups of Tenaska. The credit analysis will include financial reporting and database maintenance. The credit analysis performed will result in new and continued trading opportunities to be pursued by Tenaska. This is a summer opportunity for a student of junior standing. Hours required would be 40 per week during the summer.

Requirements

  • Currently working toward undergrad degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business required
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • The Company is not able to take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time for this position or commit to doing so in the future for individuals with current authorization to work via, for example, CPT or OPT, and would need sponsorship in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for researching and reviewing a wide variety of energy companies’ operations and financial condition
  • Provide analysis on market data and quantify modeling results
  • Formulate and express views developed through research on the current and future creditworthiness of trading customers.
  • Learn about energy market dynamics with focus on the power industry and aspects of business development
  • Compile portfolio reporting and various other reports and analyses
  • Dependable, predictable and reliable attendance is required.
