About The Position

Research & Development Quality Engineer Intern (Connected Car Engineering) Subaru of America, Inc.’s Internship Program provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain real-world experience related to their major. Interns have the chance to work on meaningful projects, collaborate with professionals, and develop skills that will be beneficial in their future careers. It’s an excellent way to jump-start their career and enhance their skillset, making them more marketable in their field of study. Course of Study Pursing a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Management Information Sciences Term Summer PROGRAM 10-12 weeks (Mondays through Fridays; 37.5 hours per week) Internship to begin Monday, June 1, 2026 Location – NASI – 50255 Michigan Ave, Van Buren Township, MI 48111 $20 an hour (undergrad) Qualifications Current Juniors OR Seniors planning to pursue a Master’s Degree OR students currently enrolled in a Master’s Program Must be an active student for the entire length of internship Previous internship or work experience preferred Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization Analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Able to work in a team environment Able to operate the vehicle's infotainment system Responsibilities Assist in vehicle software evaluations Identify applicable vehicle models and software generations Coordinates with Subaru of America Corporate Vehicles and NASI vehicle management teams to procure vehicles to be used for evaluation Pulling log data from vehicles Keeps track of vehicles that have been updated and still need to be updated. Including keeping a running list of any reported issues from the evaluation Ad-hoc requests to pull information into presentation materials for meetings Enter in bug tickets for suppliers review Help maintain project tracking boards Evaluation and feature additions utilizing the automation Test bench, SUMMARY Subaru of America’s Connected Car Engineering groups are fast-paced and exciting environments that provide an opportunity to experience business operations on a national level. This position involves supporting service areas for the Connected Vehicle.

Requirements

  • Current Juniors OR Seniors planning to pursue a Master’s Degree OR students currently enrolled in a Master’s Program
  • Must be an active student for the entire length of internship
  • Previous internship or work experience preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to operate the vehicle's infotainment system

Responsibilities

  • Assist in vehicle software evaluations
  • Identify applicable vehicle models and software generations
  • Coordinates with Subaru of America Corporate Vehicles and NASI vehicle management teams to procure vehicles to be used for evaluation
  • Pulling log data from vehicles
