About The Position

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern Project Planner for Summer, 2026. The position is based in Hagerstown, MD. Objectives: Develop skills and knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment. Mentorship: Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced production planning professionals. Assist Planning manager and team with Planning, analysis and other procedural improvements. Participate in the execution of development projects. Support the development and integration of documentation processes to ensure consistency and accuracy within the department and the organization. Participate in providing project status updates as required. Works under close supervision of the Integrated Planning Manager and Planning Lead.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Junior or Senior standing or enrolled in a Master’s program.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite.
• Current Engineering or Business student at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December, 2026 and December, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate meetings and facilitate effective communication among project team members.
• Prepare or file documents related to the project.
• Collect and collate data to track performance.
• Conduct research and assist in preparing written documents.
