About The Position

Project Manager Intern – ESCO Electric Division Division: ESCO Electric Location: Marion Reports to: Project Managers / Division Managers (Target Start Date: 5/18/26) Exempt or Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Status: Internship (Paid: $21-27/hr) Typical Working Hours: Standard business hours are 7am-4pm; may vary based on project needs. May be required to work extended hours including holidays and weekends due to the 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year type work ESCO provides its clients. Synopsis We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Manager Intern to support our electrical project management team. This role offers hands-on experience assisting with the coordination and execution of electrical projects in a variety of industries including manufacturing, industrial, commercial, and municipal. The intern will work closely with project managers and field teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. The role has potential to continue work beyond the internship period.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems or construction processes
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Willingness to learn while working in both office and field environments

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and coordinating electrical projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budgeting
  • Support project managers in tracking project progress, timelines, and deliverables
  • Help review electrical drawings, specifications, and project documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate with engineers, electricians, contractors, and vendors to gather updates and ensure alignment
  • Participate in project meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting notes and action items
  • Track procurement of materials, equipment, and components for electrical projects
  • Monitor project milestones and assist in identifying risks, delays, or cost overruns
  • Support job site coordination efforts, including communication between office and field teams
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations
