We are offering an exciting opportunity for a college student to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program as an Orion Software Engineering Intern, supporting NASA’s Orion Program. Stellar Solutions seeks a motivated, self-starting candidate to join our team on the Orion Program, supporting the Mainline Integration and Verification (MIV) team. This role focuses on software engineering efforts that support Orion’s integrated testing environment and mission readiness. The intern will contribute to the development and sustainment of a continuous integration framework that enables automated testing of functional and mission capabilities. This work directly supports efforts to streamline testing for Artemis III and future missions, helping ensure high-confidence software delivery to flight and mission operations stakeholders. Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Interest in software development, testing, or systems integration within aerospace or spaceflight programs
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Support software engineering activities within the Orion MIV team
  • Contribute to the development, execution, and maintenance of automated testing within a continuous integration framework
  • Participate in testing software capabilities across integrated simulation environments
  • Support testing progression from simulation to hardware-in-the-loop feeder lab environments
  • Collaborate with software development and integration teams from early capability development through verification
  • Gain exposure to mission-critical systems such as command and data handling, guidance and control, RF communications, and related subsystems
  • Complete weekly, quarterly, and end-of-internship assessments and provide summaries of technical learning and project contributions
