About The Position

The Intern, Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) supports the execution, optimization, and validation of manufacturing processes for biopharmaceutical products. This includes work on upstream and downstream processes, material qualifications, process analytics, and technology transfer while ensuring adherence to CGMP and SOP guidelines. We're thrilled to provide a 10-week paid internship at our facility in Tustin, CA . As an intern, you'll dive deep into our team culture, take on significant projects, and play a vital role in our team's dynamics. This temporary, 40-hour per week office position is designed to offer you a wealth of experience and the chance to connect with professionals in the industry.

  • Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA facility.
  • Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related STEM fields
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Technical writing and communication skills to convey project updates and findings effectively
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques, data management, and regulatory compliance (FDA cGMP, ISO standards) is preferred
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and, for some roles, data analysis or programming tools

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with MSAT engineers on process validation, material onboarding, and technology transfer initiatives.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from active manufacturing runs or historical datasets to support process optimization.
  • Assist in developing and improving downstream manufacturing processes, including identifying raw material solutions or alternatives.
  • Develop and organize matrices for buffer formulations and standard materials to support GMP-scale Bill of Materials assessments.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations or reports summarizing project outcomes for cross-functional teams or site leadership.
  • Author and maintain digital workflows, training materials, and technical documentation to support knowledge transfer and compliance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen MSAT business processes and operational reliability.
