C&N is seeking a motivated Mortgage Lending Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This hands-on internship provides real-world exposure to the full mortgage lifecycle within a community banking environment. You will work alongside our Mortgage team to support client service, loan processing, compliance awareness, and workflow management. From reviewing documentation to assisting with supervised pre-qualification tasks, this role offers meaningful, practical experience — not just observation. Requirements

  • Education & Experience – Applicants must be undergraduate students who will be entering their junior or senior year in Fall 2026 and pursuing a degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Candidates outside of this academic level will not be considered. Prior mortgage experience is not required.
  • This internship is full-time in Wellsboro, PA with an anticipated start on Monday, May 18th, and will last a total of 12 weeks with an anticipated end date of Friday, August 7th.

Responsibilities

  • Mortgage Lifecycle Exposure: Gain understanding of the loan process from application through closing and post-close review.
  • Pipeline & Workflow Support: Review loan pipeline reports, monitor timelines, and assist in tracking conditions and documentation.
  • Supervised File & Pre-Qualification Support: Assist with documentation preparation, pre-qualification data entry, and support credit-related processes as permitted by policy.
  • Client Service & Communication Exposure: Support preparation for client meetings and assist in drafting client communication materials.
  • Compliance & Documentation Awareness: Review loan documentation standards and assist in maintaining file accuracy under supervision.
  • Community & Education Support: Assist with planning or supporting a homebuying seminar and contribute to mortgage-related social media or educational content.
  • Capstone Project: Complete a mortgage-related capstone project such as analyzing workflow efficiencies, enhancing educational materials, or supporting a client engagement initiative.
