We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technical Support Intern to join our team in San Diego for up 3-12 months (Full time for Summer, Part time for Fall, Spring Semesters). This internship offers you a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a Diagnostic Manufacturing environment with exposure to multiple processes including Nucleic Acid Testing and Blood Typing Solutions. Specifically, you will work in the area of Production Equipment Maintenance where you will gain knowledge of state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and systems. Your responsibilities will include project support for the sitewide management of production equipment and spare parts. You will support the creation of standard operating procedures for the new computerized maintenance management system and spare parts stockrooms. You will support the creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) for all on-site equipment to ensure spare parts are assigned to each equipment. You will also support investigation of replacement options for obsolete spare parts. By standardizing processes and procedures you will improve efficiency and productivity in the Manufacturing Technical Support team. As a Manufacturing Technical Support intern you will be working with our Maintenance, Calibration, and Engineering teams. Within this internship you will have an opportunity to gain knowledge in the areas of Preventive and Corrective Equipment Maintenance, Stockroom Management, Planning and Scheduling of Maintenance activities, and Enterprise Resource Planning software (SAP). You will work with multiple functions through daily interaction, meetings, and hands on activities. The goal at the end of the internship will be delivery Location: San Diego Pay: Paid internship $20 per hour Workhours/week: full-time during summer semester, part-time during fall and winter semester Length: up to 1 year

Requirements

Ability to review and understand technical documentation
Strong attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Strong ability to demonstrate time management, organization, and prioritizing tasks
Ability to work independently on multiple simultaneous projects and be flexible to changing priorities
Ability to identify creative solutions and be a team player
Recently finished (<6 months) undergraduate degree (associates or bachelors) or degree near completion in applicable technical field
Minimum of 2+ years university experience

Responsibilities

Receive training on new maintenance and calibration management software (SAP PM)
Receive training on new spare parts management software (SAP MM)
Enter the manufacturing area to see the equipment running and learn about the manufacturing processes
Review new equipment documentation and spare parts list
Review existing inventory of spare parts and enter/update parts data into SAP
Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for all on-site equipment to ensure spare parts are assigned to each equipment
Upload Equipment documentation to SAP
Create standard operating procedures for new SAP equipment management software
