You will support critical functions that protect TriNet's assets and client data.

Requirements

Junior or Senior undergrad or graduate students
Minimum 3.0 GPA
A proactive team player who can work independently and as part of a team.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S
Foundational understanding of networking concepts, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and fundamental security principles.
Familiarity with data analysis and basic SQL querying.
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Microsoft Excel skills required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

Previous internship/work experience preferred
Academic leadership or extra-curricular activity involvement preferred
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation or analysis preferred.
Familiarity with cloud security models (AWS, Azure, or GCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Cyber Defense team with monitoring, triaging, and responding to alerts from security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management systems).
Help track and document the lifecycle of identified vulnerabilities, collaborating with infrastructure teams to ensure timely remediation.
Conduct research on emerging cyber threats, security technologies, understand adversary tactics, and produce actionable intelligence.
Support the creation and review of documentation related to technology risk assessments and internal security control testing.
Support the maintenance and auditing of Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, ensuring adherence to the principle of least privilege.
