Both positions are paid according to current academic standing and job classification. Location: Canton , MI What we are looking for: Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our Cost Planning team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 11, 2026 to August 15, 2026.

Requirements

  • Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period.
  • Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (e.g., Engineering, Finance, Business).
  • Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Commitment: Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 11, 2026, and August 14, 2026
  • Technical Skills: Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Project Work: Support of profit improvement activities focused on identifying operational efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities across our products. The project aims to analyze product costs and selling prices, identify areas of improvement, work with cross functional teams to create plans to improve profit margins. Scope includes data analysis, working with different functions within the company, and developing dashboards or reports to track progress.
  • Success Metrics: Workplan of profit improvement initiatives, quantifying the value of the ideas identified with implementation timing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Program Management, Cost Planning Team Members, Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
