About The Position

The Event Services Intern is responsible for assisting and supporting the Senior Manager of Event Services and the Event Services Specialist in all aspects of tournament execution and activation, including, but not limited to, client experience, sponsorship activation, special event management, player and caddie experience and volunteer oversight.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) with a major in Sports Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or another related field
  • Graduating senior or graduate student in an accredited four-year college or university with availability to work in-person, full-time for the duration of the internship
  • Currently possess a bachelor's degree
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and computer skills are crucial
  • Must take initiative, operate proactively and think independently in project management and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually
  • Capacity to work on several projects simultaneously and maintain exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-disciplined with schedule and time management
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift/move weighted boxes
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with athletics administration, communication or event management is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Event Services and Event Services Specialist to coordinate and manage all aspects of a professional golf tournament
  • Assist with special event logistics and execution, including, but not limited to, Corporate Hospitality Day, Media Day, Volunteer Appreciation Day, the Official Pro-Am and the Am-Am
  • Manage tournament hospitality website and assist with client communication, tracking and fulfillment
  • Responsible for execution of Honorary Observer Program, including management of apparel inventory and guest communication
  • Oversee inventory and placement of tournament linens and frames
  • Assist with volunteer program, including volunteer uniform distribution & training sessions
  • Responsible for oversight and management of client gifting and deliveries
  • Assist with PGA TOUR Childcare program execution
  • Assist with general administrative work and other Event Services related duties as assigned (i.e. answering phones, purchasing, billing, etc.)
