About The Position

Seeking an eager mechanical or chemical engineering student to join us for the summer and expand on their skills while supporting the build out of information regarding our assets and preventative maintenance. This role will have a direct impact on sustainable energy solutions. Key Areas of Responsibility Asset Hierarchy and Engineering: Support an operational Combined Cycle Power Plant at site. Support development of asset hierarchies for mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems. Interface with EDL and third-party personnel to review and verify site P&ID drawings. Gain exposure to engineering, asset management, and renewable energy operations. Support and learn the integration of assets into EDL’s CMMS software. Provide onsite point of contact to facilitate information gathering and communications between Technical Services and Operations groups. Correlate asset similarities and differences between similar Combined Cycle facilities. Comply with all workplace, federal, state and OSHA safety guidelines and obligations. Complete all applicable EDL Health and Safety training programs. Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors. In addition to the duties set out above, the Engineering Intern may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company. General: Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors In addition to the duties set out above, the Engineering Intern may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-driven to be able to work at site while reporting to remote leadership.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and correlate to physical equipment on site.
  • Open to working in a field environment at an operating site.
  • Strong interest in renewable energy and sustainability
  • Currently pursuing higher education in mechanical or chemical engineering.
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency in computers, software, and engineering applications (e.g Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerBI, CAD Tools, site SCADA software).
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, appropriate clothing, ear plugs, gas monitoring, etc.), as needed. All PPE will be provided.
