About The Position

This Engineering Intern is a student assigned to support current production programs as well as assist in the launch of new development programs. Specific tasks might include the gathering and verification of functional requirements, assessing potential design risks, participating in lab activities and testing, and conducting root cause analysis of issues identified during the development and testing processes. Achieving the desired results will require individual contributions as well as contributions attained as part of a team. In this role you will collaborate with team members located in the U.S. and other regions in order to engage in problem solving, product improvement, and cost reduction. Participates as a team member on various engineering projects. Provides regular status updates and participates in team planning sessions. Applies engineering concepts to assigned tasks including: design, engineering calculations, validation testing, data analysis. Learns and applies technical skills related to mechanical and electrical systems supporting new product development engineering and launch activities. Develops presentations and reports (data, technology description, etc.) to be presented to internal and/or external customers. Applies an adequate level of computer literacy in the areas of engineering systems software, graphics, presentations, and multimedia.

Requirements

  • University student currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior or senior in a Bachelor's Degree program in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Develop a professional presence within a multi-disciplined team of engineers and technicians
  • Develop problem solving skills when working in a fast-paced, dynamic and often ambiguous environment
  • Develop the confidence and ability to make and defend data-supported decisions within the scope of responsibility

Nice To Haves

  • University student (junior or senior) currently enrolled in Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Previous co-op or internship experience in product engineering / design and development / test engineering
  • Previous exposure to a global matrixed organization
