Job Description: As part of Microchips Operations Engineering Team, the Intern will work closely with the Product Engineering and Process Engineering teams to drive initiatives to increase output, reduce scrap and rework, eliminate waste, improve overall efficiency, and ensure quality and safety are built into processes at every step.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a masters, bachelors, associate, or apprenticeship as part of a vocational program.
  • Interested in learning about an operations discipline.
  • Smart, honest, hard-working, responsible, eager to learn, enthusiastic, a team player.
  • U.S. Export Controls Requirements: This job requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States. Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).

Responsibilities

  • Aid in projects which improve operational efficiency and deliver savings which support corporate objectives, such as on-time delivery, productivity, scrap reduction, etc.
  • Apply manufacturing best practices to drive safety, quality, reliability and predictability into everything we do
  • Work with teams to identify problems, analyze information and develop and implement process solutions
  • Assist in the creation and controlling of processes and procedures in accordance with defined policies.
