About The Position

The Electrical Associate Project Manager Intern is a developmental role within ESCO Group designed to provide hands-on experience in electrical project coordination, project accounting, and field support activities. This position supports Electrical Project Managers, General Foremen, and accounting teams in delivering accurate financial tracking, timely billing, and efficient electrical project execution. The intern will gain exposure to estimating, job cost tracking, change order management, procurement coordination, and client communication within an electrical contracting environment.

Requirements

  • Be currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Electrical Technology, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Have a strong interest in electrical construction and project management.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of construction or electrical terminology (preferred but not required).
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Be comfortable working with numbers, percentages, sales tax, and cost tracking.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Initiative and eagerness to learn the electrical construction industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Growing independence as skills develop.
  • Strong teamwork and customer service mindset.
  • Clear and professional communication.

  • Internship, field, or hands-on experience in electrical construction.
  • Exposure to blueprint reading or electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with cost tracking and reviewing job cost reports.
  • Supporting cost account meetings with Project Managers and General Foremen.
  • Updating project documentation and collaboration tools.
  • Reviewing customer billing requirements.
  • Assisting in preparing invoices using WIP reports, purchase orders, and material invoices.
  • Tracking time-and-material work.
  • Supporting change order documentation and contract adjustments.
  • Assisting with job sales and use tax review.
  • Helping close out projects upon completion.
  • Coordinating with facility engineers and field leadership.
  • Assisting with procurement tracking and purchase order updates.
  • Supporting documentation of material and labor costs.
  • Communicating professionally with customers and internal teams.
  • Documenting processes and assisting in development of SOPs.
  • Supporting Accounts Receivable follow-up and documentation.
  • Assisting Payroll and Accounts Payable with job number research.
  • Participating in team improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring adherence to ESCO safety standards and policies.
