About The Position

The Lodge Crisis Residential Program offers a unique and rewarding opportunity for graduate-level students to work in crisis residential program delivering evidenced based care in a supportive caring environment. The Lodge is a comprehensive, residential treatment program that provides therapeutic support for adults in distress, including acute mental health challenges, grief and loss, significant life changes affecting their daily functioning, and substance abuse issues. The internship opportunity affords the graduate level intern exposure working within a dynamic team approach, offering evidenced based therapies, collaborative assessment, and management of psychiatric symptoms. The Lodge Program operates 24/7 seven days a week. While we accept applications year-round, our clinical internship cohorts start at the following times: January May August

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a graduate clinical counseling or social work program that has a required practicum or internship.
  • Have completed at least one graduate level course in psychopathology, abnormal psychology, or mental health diagnostics.
  • Interest in and/or experience with group process/therapy.
  • A willingness to expand knowledge base.
  • Ability to provide services on-site; this is not a virtual position.
  • Ability to commit to at least a two day/week schedule for a period of two semesters.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the internship, with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide group and individual therapy with opportunities to learn and practice evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Complete comprehensive documentation, which includes biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, safety planning, discharge planning, obtaining collateral from referral sources and client support person(s) if applicable, and daily progress notes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, mental health professional staff, registered nurses, administration, and prescribers.
  • Attend trainings relevant to your work at a crisis program.
  • Support a therapeutic milieu which establishes clear goals for the individual patient’s recovery journey.
