The Intern, Business Analyst in Insurance Services and Operations (ISO) plays a vital role in shaping and delivering high-impact initiatives across Insurance Services. This position focuses on translating complex business needs into actionable requirements, driving process improvements, and enabling data-driven decisions that produce measurable outcomes. The role involves hands-on analysis, documentation, and solution needs for the business, while collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data, and vendor partners. Business Analysts actively apply and refine analytical and problem-solving skills, engage in stakeholder workshops, and contribute directly to ISO deliverables. Through structured mentorship and exposure to enterprise-scale projects, this role offers the opportunity to gain deep expertise in insurance operations and make a tangible impact within a dynamic, supportive corporate environment.

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior undergrad or graduate student in good academic standing in one of these areas: Business Administration or Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics and Statistics, Finance, Program/Project Management
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Academic projects or internships involving business analysis, process mapping, or data analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with productivity tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Monday.com and Word; familiarity with collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex problems, identify patterns, and propose logical solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in documentation, data validation, and reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication for clear requirements and stakeholder updates.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and supporting ISO Project Managers.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Familiarity with collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint)
  • Data Literacy: Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting concepts; SQL or BI tools exposure is a plus.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain project documentation effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Creative and resourceful approach to resolving issues and supporting project deliverables.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to insurance, HR operations, or financial services through coursework, case studies, or prior internships (preferred but not required).
  • Basic understanding of data and reporting concepts; experience with SQL, BI tools, or JIRA/Confluence is a plus but not required.
  • Academic leadership or extra-curricular activity involvement preferred
  • Exposure to JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide critical project support: Assist ISO Project Managers in planning, tracking, and executing high-impact initiatives across Insurance Services, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
  • Enable smooth operations: Prepare documentation, maintain project artifacts, and coordinate updates to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Facilitate collaboration: Act as a liaison between ISO Project Managers and cross-functional teams, helping translate requirements and resolve blockers quickly.
  • Develop expertise and adaptability: Gain hands-on experience with insurance operations projects, strengthen problem-solving skills, and adapt to evolving priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Grow through mentorship: Work closely with seasoned Project Managers, benefiting from guidance and leadership exposure while building a strong foundation for future career growth.
  • Contribute to an inclusive culture: Support a collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives and teamwork across ISO, Product, Engineering, and vendor partners.
