About The Position

The Brand Marketing Department is responsible for developing marketing strategies for business initiatives and marketing campaigns for their assigned categories of expertise to maximize business performance and drive customer advocacy. The brand team also influences Publix private label product innovation and development, which builds Publix brands, fills opportunity gaps, and further drive sales and market share. The Marketing Communications Department is responsible for the development of integrated and innovative communication strategies for marketing campaigns to reach our diverse target audiences with the most relevant message at the right time and place. This requires evaluating marketing strategy briefs, determining the appropriate media mix, reviewing creative, conducting campaign analysis, and reconciling budgets to ensure campaign objectives are met and target audience is reached, while staying within budget. Within both these departments, the intern will have several responsibilities.

Requirements

  • must be an actively enrolled student not graduating prior to the start of the Summer Internship Program in May; or if graduating from a bachelor's degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester; or if graduating from a master’s degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester)
  • must be pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in advertising or marketing and be a current sophomore or above (rising junior or above as of the program start in Summer 2026) or a graduate student
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • presentation skills
  • basic knowledge of project management software
  • basic knowledge of brand marketing strategy
  • basic knowledge of business analysis in order to analyze current situations, understand the scope and opportunity of projects, and review promotion performance
  • basic knowledge of Marketing principles, processes, tools, and techniques
  • basic knowledge of the grocery environment as well as consumer and competitive market dynamic

Responsibilities

  • assist with marketing campaigns and projects within Brand Marketing and Communications
  • engage with Marketing associates across the department
  • attend weekly status meetings with Marketing mentors
  • acquire an understanding of the department’s structure and processes
