Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a postsecondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent grammar.
  • Proficient editing and proofreading abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
  • A strong curiosity and eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Team player extroidinaire with a demonstrated ability to work well with others.
  • Working knowledge of brand management, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage conflicting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and organize information effectively.
  • Proven critical thinking and sound decision-making skills.
  • Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient with InDesign and Photoshop is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and proofread clear, concise business communications for diverse audiences.
  • Support the creation and execution of internal and external communication and marketing plans.
  • Develop and post content for social media, marketing materials, and web platforms, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Assist in planning and organizing special events and district marketing initiatives, overseeing logistics and communication tactics.
  • Apply PCL’s branding guidelines (language and visual elements) to all communications and marketing deliverables.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to provide communications guidance, collaborating to craft impactful messaging and campaigns.
  • Work with creative professionals to develop compelling visual and written content for both communications and marketing purposes.
  • Conduct industry research and identify opportunities to position PCL as a thought leader—whether through media, public speaking, or proposal contributions.
  • Organize and manage digital content, marketing assets, and project records, supporting the broader marketing strategy.
