About The Position

Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. May collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, service, or products. May develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation. Background The Federal Protective Service (FPS) operates a 24x7x365 national operations center, known as the Federal Protective Service Operations Center (FPSOC) or “The Watch,” which serves as the central hub for situational awareness, information coordination, and operational reporting across FPS. FPS relies on contractor support to assist with watch desk operations, incident monitoring, information synthesis, and briefing production, ensuring timely, accurate information sharing in support of operational and leadership decision-making. Contractor personnel also support virtual Emergency Operations Center (vEOC) activities, Incident Management Team (IMT) deployments, and the maintenance of a Common Operating Picture (COP) to enable coordinated response across FPS and partner organizations.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in operation centers, emergency management, dispatch, first responder (law enforcement/fire/rescue) or related work.
  • Must be able to type 65-70 words per minute and is skilled in Adobe and Microsoft office products, including excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Security Clearance:Candidates must possess an active Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain one. Clearance processing and entry on duty are subject to government approval, and candidates will not be permitted to begin work until all required security requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • This position must be covered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
  • Responsible for the quality of deliverables provided and performance of contract watch standers
  • Manages watch functions, processes, and information flow
  • Prioritizes tasks and efforts and coordinates information gathering and reporting with other FPS Elements.
  • Maintains situational awareness of DHS related events, incidents, and threats and participates in daily NOC Operations calls.
  • Briefs Senior Leadership on priority information requirements.
  • Reviews and approves incident reports and reporting products before distribution.
  • Maintains RFI database, assigns RFIs, tracks RFI’s, and ensures RFI’s are reviewed and approved.
  • Capable of maintaining the COP.
  • Produces, reviews, and briefs the DOSR. Ensure DOSR is distributed.
  • Maintains distribution lists and telephone rosters.
  • Capable of producing limited GIS imagery to support reporting products.
  • Maintains and reviews watch turnover/pass down report.
  • Accesses, navigates, and utilizes DHS and FPS law enforcement data systems and networks (to secret clearance level).
  • All duties performed under this position are done so independently.
