About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking an Intermediate IT Onsite Support professional. UAMS is a collaborative health care organization focused on improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans, combining education, research, and clinical programs. This position involves providing accurate and timely troubleshooting of security system and network cabling components, performing installations of electronic control systems, and responding to system failures to repair or reconfigure equipment and software. The role is part of a 24/7/365 on-call rotation.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field of study plus 1 year cabling, low voltage system, carpentry/building maintenance -OR- High School Diploma/GED with 3 years cabling, low voltage system, carpentry/building maintenance.
Valid Driver's License.
Participates in a group 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year on-call rotation where each member of the group takes call for 1 week at a time.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Customer Service experience.
Arkansas Alarm License, Level 1.

Responsibilities

Provides accurate and timely troubleshooting of security system and network cabling components.
Perform installations of electronic control systems, which may include door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, communication, cable management, electronic locks, Wi-Fi locks, network switches, point sensors, signaling devices and associated hardware.
Responds to situations where systems have failed and action must be taken to isolate or repair problem equipment, software, or make configuration changes to return systems to full functionality.
