About The Position

Ursinus College is a selective, independent, co-educational, residential liberal arts college of approximately 1500 students located about 25 miles northwest of center city Philadelphia. Responsibilities

  • The Moors production (build, load-in, fly system operation, technical rehearsals, and strike)
  • Stagecraft class instruction (required for Theater and Dance)
  • Living Newspaper (capstone production in the black box)
  • Guest dance event requiring installation of the new dance floor
  • UCDC load-in, technical rehearsals, and strike (including fly system use)
  • End-of-year shop cleanup, maintenance, and inventory
  • Ongoing coordination, meetings, and production management across events in Theater & Dance and Kaleidoscope more generally
  • Organizing and managing the two stage houses, shop area, and scenic/prop/costume stock
  • Assisting faculty in overseeing the productions of student clubs advised by the department
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising student workers assisting on construction and run crews, stage management, and board operation
  • Upholding safety standards and maintaining inventory lists
  • Pricing and coordinating purchases and rentals for all departments of each production
  • Working with the Performing Arts Engineer to assist on non-Theater and Dance events in the Kaleidoscope and across campus
  • Coordinating facility and equipment maintenance schedule with appropriate college partners and scheduling outside maintenance companies for specified stage equipment
  • Collaborating and assisting with institutionally focused analyses, studies, and reports
  • Coordinating with college partners for non-departmental events in spaces shared by the Theater and Dance department
  • Assisting faculty in overseeing the productions of student clubs advised by the department
