About The Position

Blue Water Thinking is looking for an Interfaces Project Manager - Biomedical Engineering to lead small-scale projects encompassing multiple tasks with a total life cycle budget and complexity comparable to the task order at hand. Tasks may include tracking and coordinating medical device and clinical system interfaces through the project lifecycle; formulating and defining system scope and objectives in accordance with the customer technical requirements; compiling and analyzing technical data; advising client management and customers on complex system projects and activities; working closely with customers to define communication systems and equipment requirements; providing instruction on and performing and documenting quality assurance reviews.

Requirements

  • Experience within a medical center and Biomedical Engineering department
  • Experience working in or with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA)
  • Understanding of VISN, VA medical center, and Biomedical Engineering department operations
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Certification as a Clinical Engineer (CCE).
  • A minimum of three years of hospital or healthcare experience maintaining medical equipment or managing a hospital medical equipment program.
  • Must have proven experience working within the U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of concepts related to computer based medical systems, networking protocols, and information security as it applies to medical technology within VHA.
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, and implementing clinical system interfaces with electronic health records, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and protocols (e.g., HL7, FHIR, DICOM).
  • Extensive experience in managing medical imaging systems, ensuring compliance with DICOM standards for image storage, retrieval, and transfer.
  • Proven ability to lead projects related to integrating biomedical devices and systems with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) using HL7 and DICOM protocols.
  • Demonstrated skill in in communicating and working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including technical, clinical, and professional staff at various levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements (TJC), industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role
