This Position Is Management Service. The Incumbent Will Work at The Pleasure of the Appointing Authority. GRADE 20 LOCATION OF POSITION Howard County 8520 Corridor Road Suite H Savage, MD 20763 POSITION DUTIES This position will supervise and provide guidance to all employees assigned to the IID Intel Analytical Unit and their assigned work. This position will include reviewing requests for information (Facility, IP telephone calls, STG, Personnel vetting, incident related stats, Command/Tablet, etc.) This position will gather, organize, and disseminate weekly Intel reports, manage all the databases under the control of the Intel Analytical Unit, and perform all administrative duties (PEPs, Policy & Procedure, staff leave, etc.). Supervises subordinate staff and reviews, assigns, and oversees the work performed by subordinate staff. This duty also includes evaluating the units function, efficiency of operations, and reviewing, developing, and recommending policy and procedures pertaining to the unit. Oversees any and all informational databases, as the “Administrator”, either directly under the department or an allied agency to include research, licensing, and cost expenditures. This duty includes reviewing and determining who is granted access/accounts as a user under the department or other agencies. This duty also includes assuring subordinate staff are servicing all requests for access to informational databases under the unit’s control and or providing the requested information from those databases. Oversees the production and dissemination of any and all Intel documents pertaining to the development of actionable intelligence for the use by DPSCS Intel staff/operations, IID and other law enforcement agencies, Correctional Institution Administrators, DPSCS Department Executives, etc. Reviews and disseminates all weekly Intel Reports to the IID Executive Director and all designated DPSCS and Allied Agency personnel. This duty includes the gathering and reviewing of data/stats from various agencies, organization, and preparing the report to disseminate intel information on a weekly basis. Establishes partnerships with other agencies under the DPSCS, private or commercial businesses, and with Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies to identify innovative techniques and best practices to gather, analyze, and share intelligence information. This duty includes attending meetings, providing presentation, providing training, etc.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields: Criminal Justice or Public Administration
  • Experience managing the full contract lifecycle for VIAPath (formerly Global TelLink/GTL).

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience using Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS), DataIQ, Maryland Dashboard, VIAPath (formerly Global Tel Link (GTL), Thomson Reuters CLEAR, Automated Gang Intel Information System (AGI) or similar intelligence databases and software.
