About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Integration Engineer to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain system integrations and machine‑to‑machine interfaces to enable automated data exchanges and interoperability across ARNG enterprise applications. Analyze interface requirements, produce technical specifications, data mappings, and interface control documents (ICDs) aligned with Agile/DevSecOps and PDLC/SDLC processes. Develop, test, and deploy integration solutions (APIs, ETL/ELT, message queues, web services) and monitor interface health, latency, and error conditions across dev/test/staging/production. Coordinate with developers, DBAs, cybersecurity, and functional stakeholders to validate data flows, schema changes, transformation logic, and security controls for inbound/outbound exchanges. Implement changes under configuration management: update schemas, data dictionaries, IE documentation, interface logic, and Section F deliverables for interoperability. Conduct impact assessments, integration testing (automated and manual), and troubleshooting for interface issues; produce technical diagrams and runbooks. Maintain authoritative documentation of interfaces, data lineage, and operational procedures; support accreditation evidence and audit requirements. Mentor engineering teams on integration best practices, error handling, observability, and scalable integration patterns. #ENOCS

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Candidate must meet ONE of the following: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; OR Relevant DoD/military training (example: Research & Development Specialist (Advanced) Playlist); OR Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (examples: SecurityX/CASP+; RCCE Level 1; CEH; GCLD).
  • Systems integration, middleware, or software engineering experience with at least 3 years designing and operating enterprise integration solutions.
  • Hands‑on expertise with APIs, REST/SOAP, message brokers/queues, ETL/ELT tools, data transformation/mapping, and schema management.
  • Practical experience with integration testing frameworks, automated deployment pipelines, observability/monitoring for interfaces, and incident troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of secure integration practices, data protection, and alignment with RMF/ATO evidence requirements.
  • Proficiency producing ICDs, data dictionaries, interface diagrams, and decision‑grade technical documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior DoD/ARNG integration experience and familiarity with Section F deliverables for enterprise interoperability.
  • Experience with cloud integration patterns, API gateways, message streaming platforms (Kafka), and scalable event‑driven architectures.
  • Certifications such as CASP+, RCCE, or equivalent and experience integrating security controls into interface designs.
