Requirements

  • Ideal candidates have a minimum of 8–12+ years of integrated media planning experience at a media/advertising agency or similar environment.
  • Proven experience leading multiple clients or a portfolio of accounts in an agency environment
  • Strong understanding of cross-channel media, especially video ecosystems
  • Experience working with advanced measurement approaches (MMM, incrementality, attribution)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Media Strategy and Planning:
  • Own integrated media strategy across multiple client accounts, varying in size and complexity
  • Design full-funnel media programs aligned to client business objectives, including:
  • Audience strategy (1P, 2P, 3P data)
  • Channel roles and mix (CTV, OLV, linear TV, paid social, search, audio, display, retail media, etc.)
  • Investment frameworks and prioritization
  • Measurement and learning agendas
  • Translate client objectives into clear, actionable media strategies and POVs
  • Ensure consistency, rigor, and strategic clarity across all planning deliverables
  • Partner with internal teams (Paid Media, Analytics, Creative, Strategy) to align execution with intent
  • Client Leadership & Portfolio Management
  • Serve as the senior media strategy lead and escalation point across assigned clients
  • Lead strategic conversations with client stakeholders, including Marketing, Analytics, and Finance
  • Present media strategies, results, and recommendations with confidence and credibility
  • Balance priorities and resources across a portfolio of accounts
  • Support client retention and growth through strong strategic leadership
  • Measurement, Learning & Optimization
  • Partner with Analytics to define measurement frameworks and KPIs by funnel stage
  • Interpret results from MMM, incrementality testing, brand lift, and attribution analyses
  • Ensure optimization decisions are rooted in business outcomes, not just platform metrics
  • Promote a test-and-learn mindset across clients and teams
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Senior Media Planners and Media Planners
  • Set clear expectations, priorities, and quality standards for planning teams
  • Review and elevate strategic work products before client delivery
  • Foster proactive thinking and strong strategic judgment within the team
  • Media Research & Analysis
  • Guide the use of research and planning tools to inform media decisions
  • Ensure teams understand why data is being used—not just how
  • Lead collaboration on advanced analyses related to channel effectiveness, media mix optimization, and audience insights
  • Encourage thoughtful use of tools rather than reliance on “black box” outputs
