About The Position

At Moaddel Law Firm, we are committed to providing compassionate, strategic, and aggressive legal advocacy for immigrant families. With decades of experience serving Latino communities throughout California, we understand that every immigration case represents a family’s future, not just a legal matter. We are seeking an experienced Intake Attorney to serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients within our Immigration practice. This role is critical in evaluating case viability, guiding individuals through complex immigration matters, and ensuring high quality, compliant intake processes. You will oversee legal strategy within the intake function and work closely with Business Development, Legal, and Support teams to uphold the firm’s standards while driving revenue performance. Work Setup • Onsite role based in Koreatown, Los Angeles • Full time, exempt • 40 hours per week • Weekdays schedule with flexibility for weekends

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor and active bar license in good standing
  • 3 to 5 years of Immigration Law experience including litigation
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • Strong client focus and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a KPI driven environment
  • Proven ability to contribute to revenue growth
  • Experience with Family Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR removal defense, Citizenship, and USCIS applications
  • Tech savvy with case management systems such as Clio or Zoho
  • Ability to identify operational and business challenges and support business objectives

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Intake or client base development experience preferred
  • Experience managing caseloads through direct reports

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Business Development team’s legal strategy to ensure intake information and retainer agreements follow firm protocols
  • Conduct strategic phone and in person immigration consultations with prospective clients
  • Assess eligibility and recommend appropriate legal pathways
  • Communicate case details and recommendations to the Intake Committee
  • Explain complex immigration concepts and viable legal strategies clearly
  • Advise on immigration options including removal defense and family based petitions
  • Review immigration filings and application packets for accuracy and legal sufficiency
  • Develop case strategy and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS interviews
  • Conduct legal research and case analysis to identify benefits, relief options, and risks
  • Draft, review, and submit legal briefs across immigration matters
  • Partner with the training team to provide subject matter training
  • Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for the Legal Intake Department
