We are currently seeking applicants for an Instrumentation Technician 4th Period in the Instrumentation of our Power Productions Division located at the Thomas Hill Energy Center. Duties and Responsibilities Safe and efficient operation of equipment and tools necessary to perform maintenance on instrumentation equipment. Assist in modifying, repairing, troubleshooting, adjusting, calibrating, installing, and cleaning instrumentation inside and outside the plant while u nder the direction of the Instrumentation Supervisor and/or Lead man or Journeyman Instrument Technician , includ ing , but not limited to, all instrumentation and control devices, which may include tubing and wiring associated with equipment monitoring, pneumatic and digital valve controllers and positioners, Distributed Control System (DCS) equipment, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) equipment, Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEMS) equipment, I/O multiplexors, ultrasonic flow measurement, and assorted gauges, transmitters, transducers, switches, analyzers, and other indicating/control devices. Required to read and interpret prints, sketches, and technical manuals. Keep all tools and work areas clean and in an orderly manner . Periodic inspections of all instrumentation equipment, reporting any concerns to management. Use necessary hand tools, miscellaneous equipment and handheld technology. Required to work from heights. Follow all policies and procedures established by the Instrumentation Department and AECI. May be to collaborate with Journeyman Electricians to troubleshoot low-voltage, DCS and/or PLC circuits and systems Perform any other work as assigned however, work will not be assigned arbitrarily or capriciously.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED .
  • Three years’ post- secondary electronics school or equivalent training, which includes basic computer systems and
  • Minimum of three-years ’ experience in electronics. (experience including troubleshooting and repairing electronic control/computer systems similar to those in the power plant).
