The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician will be responsible for maintaining controls and instrumentation for our client in a soy processing industry in Morristown, Indiana. Occasionally will be assigned to work providing process instrumentation support in manufacturing plants in Ohio, Illinois and Tennessee, involving some travel and some overnight stays of one week or less. This position involves working closely with our other Instrumentation Technicians to maintain process instruments that control or monitor flow, level, pressure and temperature instrumentation within the manufacturing environment to maximize accuracy and minimize downtime. As part of your duties, you will be asked to perform calibrations, to troubleshoot process instrumentation, to provide preventive maintenance on control processes, to execute loop checks, to program in-process PLC’s or plant control software, to handle plant-wide process shutdown to include boiler controls, valve positioners, photo-eyes equipment, pressure and temperature transmitters, and related instrumentation. Inspect, troubleshoot, test, clean, repair, reassemble, and re-install instruments to insure optimal operation of processes. Maintain critical equipment to ensure it will reliably perform its function. Utilize computerized systems to record, retrieve, manage, and integrate data. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will regularly be exposed to dusty conditions, to outside weather in all conditions, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts and equipment, and could be exposed to chemicals used in the process. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
