About The Position

The Instrumentation & Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing instrumentation and control systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation. This role includes performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring all equipment operates according to specifications. The technician will read and interpret installation diagrams, mount, wire, program, and test equipment, while working closely with Maintenance to improve system performance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret installation specifications, diagrams, and plans to properly mount, wire, program, and test instrumentation and control systems.
  • Assemble, test, and maintain circuitry and electronic components based on engineering instructions and technical manuals.
  • Ensure the proper operation of SCADA systems, troubleshoot and resolve any related issues to maintain system performance.
  • Repair and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and computer-based equipment and systems on location.
  • Read and interpret installation specifications, diagrams, and plans to properly mount, wire, program, and test instrumentation and control systems.
  • Assist with the proper start-up of equipment, ensuring all communication with systems is operational.
  • Conduct regular visual inspections of equipment, cables, and components to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Communicate with wellsite personnel before start-up to ensure alignment on system and equipment status.
  • Identify, report, and address any deficiencies or malfunctions in the instrumentation and control systems.
  • Travel to various basin locations to assist with the implementation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Attend safety and operations improvement meetings.
  • Comply with all government, industry and company regulations and standards to ensure a healthy and safe work environment, as well as, reduce environmental impact.
