About The Position

The Department of Marketing in the Phillips School of Business at High Point University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position in Business Communication at the rank of Instructor. Salary is dependent on qualifications, with opportunities for expanded responsibilities and promotion. A background in professional writing, business communication, and career coaching is preferred. We currently require BUA 2990: Business Communication for all non-Accounting Business majors and for the Business Administration minor. This aligns with High Point University’s brand as The Premier Life Skills University. We keep the curriculum relevant by intentionally designing experiential learning opportunities for students, leveraging a faculty talent portfolio of research and practical business experience. Collaboration with faculty is key, especially in coaching, mentoring, and systematically shaping tomorrow’s business professionals. Requirements

  • A master’s degree in business administration, communication, OR a master’s degree plus commensurate experience in the teaching discipline will be considered.

  • Any graduate degree earned outside the U.S. will require a degree equivalency review (i.e., by World Education Services www.wes.org).

Nice To Haves

  • A background in professional writing, business communication, and career coaching is preferred.
  • Collegiate teaching experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully teaches Business Communications at the collegiate level
  • Must answer student emails promptly and be willing to schedule occasional appointments to meet with students.
