Apply Today!        Where You Will Work    In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation’s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.   What You Will DoThis role delivers classroom training focused on safety protocols, regulations, and best practices, ensuring trainees gain the knowledge to perform tasks safely. It manages a productive learning environment, aligns training with industry standards and company policies, and monitors effectiveness through feedback and reporting. The position supports a collaborative team dedicated to building workforce capability and promoting safe, effective job performance. Enhance employee knowledge in compliance and non-technical skills through classroom instruction, including safety, process, and leadership topics. Facilitate interactive activities, discussions, and assessments to improve retention. Proctor computer-based training and maintain accurate records in the learning management system. Participate in train-the-trainer programs and contribute to instructional development. Provide input for competency-based materials and collaborate across departments to align training with operational goals. Follow established learning standards and schedules, and perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience in adult education or safety standards and practices;
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience in education or safety standards and practices
  • Proven computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office and Windows
  • Ability to follow and apply company policies and procedures
  • Skill in analytical thinking
  • Demonstrated desire and willingness to learn and develop self
  • Demonstrated passion for developing others
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions in English
  • Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in adult education or corporate training preferred
  • Experience in mining, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred
  • Familiarity with MSHA/OSHA safety standards preferred
  • Prior exposure to a Learning Management System (LMS) preferred
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
  • Familiarity with competency-based training models preferred
  • MSHA Blue Card certification preferred
