About The Position

Coordinates and instructs American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) training programs for healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1-2 years Teaching experience required or Candidate may be trained for this position if instructor potential was noted during a course required
• AHA BLS Instructor - AHABLSI required and
• CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
• Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the clinical and marketing efforts of the Clinical Simulation Center and other special projects upon request.
• Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards.
• Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
• Maintains instruction/training aids and equipment.
• Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate.
• Participates in meetings serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Plans and instructs Continuing Education Courses for healthcare professionals and lay rescuers within the AHA guidelines.
