About The Position

Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse. Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment, as appropriate. Contacts receiving medical personnel, reports observations and follows directives. Inspects, maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public. May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies. Complies with the Air Medical Vendor limitations and physical requirements.

Requirements

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Emergency Medical Tech specializing in ER Vehicle Operation credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC), or Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) credentialed from Coaching Systems.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Spprt obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
  • Three years of experience in Emergency Medical Services.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of experience in Emergency Medical Services.
  • Paramedic specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the International Board of Specialty Certification obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Certified Paramedic specializing in Flight obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date. Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C)
