About The Position

General Summary of Position Coordinates and instructs American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) training programs for healthcare professionals. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Assists in the clinical and marketing efforts of the Clinical Simulation Center and other special projects upon request.Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards.Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.Maintains instruction/training aids and equipment.Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate.Participates in meetings serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.Performs other duties as assigned.Plans and instructs Continuing Education Courses for healthcare professionals and lay rescuers within the AHA guidelines. Minimal Qualifications

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years Teaching experience required or Candidate may be trained for this position if instructor potential was noted during a course required
  • AHA BLS Instructor - AHABLSI required and
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
  • Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
