The Instructional Designer II (IDII) serves in a development/design capacity for the creation of asynchronous online courses. The position requires an intermediate understanding of adult learning principles, needs analysis, course development, graphic design principles and training program implementation. The Instructional Designer II has experience creating online courses and static deliverables from the point of inception through delivery, including instructional graphic design skills. Additionally, this position will also serve as a quality assurance reviewer for deliverables to ensure that instructional design standards are followed. The Instructional Designer II has primary responsibility for the development of training modules and other educational materials both web-based and static. The Designer will be responsible for reviewing content, providing training, and ensuring that the deliverables meet the needs of the end users. In collaboration with project leadership, HCA Healthcare business owners, and division leadership, the Instructional Designer creates and maintains educational content. The following are competencies and expectations for the role at an intermediate level: Written and oral communication skills Design and development of asynchronous online courses Standard course authoring tools Needs assessment Adult learning principles Project management Graphic design Quality assurance Knowledge of LMS delivery platform Duties may also include collaborating with peers in any combination of the following: Design, develop and update content-specific, competency-based education programs, in conjunction with technical and compliance experts from the field and corporate departments with advanced interactivity Collaborate on process improvements and revision of standards/templates used by Learning CoE. Consult with business owners to determine best solution to fit targets for time, quality and requirements fulfillment. Intermediate proficiency with standards and technology for QA. Communicate project status within the department, with other department representatives, and with higher organizational levels; provide formal status reporting on a periodic basis to management staff as requested. Contribute to intra-departmental teams. Review course evaluations to ensure continuous improvement of training materials and program. Coordinate with senior staff to implement course revision plans to improve outcomes. Participate in intra-departmental teams.
