About The Position

The Instructional facilitator provides effective professional development for staff; developing and facilitating PD experiences that include coaching, PLC facilitation, and full staff training. The instructional facilitator is responsible for supporting teachers in effectively leveraging established curriculum guidelines and state standards in pursuit of student growth.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (Master’s Degree preferred); teaching certification from Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a public education setting and facilitation and professional development experience (or commensurate leadership experience).
  • Background: Successful completion of fingerprinting and background check. Valid driver’s license.
  • Vision: (which may be corrected) to read small print; view a computer screen for prolonged periods.
  • Hearing: (which may be corrected) to answer telephones and tolerate exposure to noisy conditions.
  • Speech: to be understood in face-to-face communications; to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone.
  • Upper Body Mobility: use hands and fingers to feel, grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist and bend at the wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower the head.
  • Strength: to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 5 or more pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Environmental Requirements: encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors and outdoors.
  • Mental Requirements: read, write, understand, interpret, and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile, and coordinate information and records.
  • Additional Work Conditions and Physical Abilities: May require travel to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Work with individual teachers in coaching, consultation, or collaboration relationships.
  • Work with course or grade level teams in PLC, lesson study, or consultancy structures.
  • Work with building principal to support calibration between building and district initiatives.
  • Work with full staff, or cross-building staff groups to present formal professional development.
  • Facilitate formal professional development sessions and work with district professional development coordinators to support district initiative.
  • Stay informed on best practices in elementary education, enrichment programming, and innovative instructional techniques.
  • Participate in professional learning communities and collaborate with colleagues to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Follows the policies and procedures of the school and the District.
  • Demonstrates a sense of professional responsibility, such as demonstrating ethical behavior; providing accurate data and reports when needed; meeting deadlines; maintaining confidentiality; caring for the equipment and materials; and dressing appropriately and presenting a good role model.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
