About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Supporting the Scripps College Academy, the Facilitator will mentor, lead discussions, and engage in aspects of the curriculum as well as deliver co-curricular presentations for the summer conference. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This information is intended to be a descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The list of essential functions below does not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent in this position. Reports to both the program and head curricular coordinators. Collaborates closely with faculty to plan and teach in the academic program. Lives in residence hall with student participants for program’s duration. Works closely with student participants in classroom assignments and projects by providing group and individualized assistance as needed; must be able to individually lead small group discussions. Leads and/or co-leads portions of the co-curricular component. Writes and facilitates a non-credit elective course Chaperones sponsored activities on and off campus. Attends all training and staff meetings. Support students and operations as needed. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Active support for the College’s Principles of Community and Institutional Values in the performance of job duties.

Requirements

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be customer service oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
  • High school diploma required or any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with high school students is preferred.
